ENGINEERING Using solid modeling software such as Unigraphics, Pro-Engineer and SolidWorks enables us to design and build tools directly from your CAD Model or Part Print. Early in the design stage we routinely meet with our customers and their customers to jointly develop the part shape. This ensures that the part is production ready and economically producible. This is a key factor in our reputation for building dies that run well in production. EQUIPMENT Manufacturing of Electrodes and metal removal is accomplished on our CNC Milling Machines. Several of these 20 machines employ state of art Processors, liquid cooled Spindles, liquid cooled Ball Screws, etc. They provide us with the ability to perform High Speed Machining on hardened Cavity Blocks and Electrodes. Our Horizontal Boring Mills have a maximum working envelope of 78.7" x 63" x 63" and can accommodate work pieces weighing as much as 22,000 pounds. Our 7 CNC EDM Machines, 5 Ram and 2 Wire, have tank sizes up to 19.7" x 37.4" x 57" Hoisting capacity is currently rated at 20,000 pounds Our capabilities and equipment allow us to build Dies that will run in a 2,000 ton Die Cast machine or smaller. QUALITY A direct link from our 3-D Data Base to our Browne & Sharpe Direct Computer Control Coordinate Measuring Machine allows us to measure any point or feature on an Insert or Electrode to monitor our process. This is one of the many methods that we use to ensure the Die Cavities match the 3-D CAD Model. REPAIR Most of our Customers are high volume producers that require cavity replacement, major Mold Base rebuilds and quick turn around times. We manufacture replacement cavities, components and provide complete Mold Base repair that is very cost effective when compared to the cost of a new die. TRIM DIES We design and build Trim Dies to run in Vertical Presses, Tilt Bed Presses, or Horizontal Presses. We can design Trim Dies with positive knock out or spring loaded ejection, push through and dump pans with mechanical actuation from the press cycle. PROTOTYPING AND MACHINING We can make prototype parts by machining them from a solid piece of Aluminum, Magnesium, or Zinc using the 3-D CAD Model. We also machine castings for Prototypes, Pilot Runs, or Pre-production Runs.
